Treatment Number 6 of 6 and the London to Brighton Cycle Ride

Today was my last MytoMycin-C treatment of 6. It is now a wait and see until my follow up appointment for a Cystoscopy

This will be carried out as an outpatient on the 31st October at 8.30am.  So, another period of waiting, however Denise and I are very hopeful that the results will be positive.  I also think this view is held by the Uro-Oncology Specialist Nurse (Emma) that carried out my treatment today.  If this is the outcome it will be a case of being checked out over the next 5 years.

I again stress that this hoped for favourable outcome is due to seeking medical advice/treatment as soon as I had signs that all was not right!!  The speed at which I have been whizzed through the system speaks very highly of the NHS and QA Hospital in Cosham.

To refresh the memories of my readers it was only 7 Months ago that I had a Haemturia - a sign that something could be seriously wrong - so don't delay - it will not go away of its own accord.

As planned I and my Son-in-Law Steve Carter completed the London to Brighton cycle ride on Sunday the 15th of September.  We both found the event to be extremely well organised in every respect.  Unfortunately some did not but I think trying to keep over 2500 cyclists happy is a tall order - definitely would do it again.

My time on the road was 4 hours 8 minutes and 2 seconds, extremely pleased with this, I had set a target of sub 4 hours but missing 6 weeks of training did not help.  On the other hand so glad I decided to do this as I am convinced that the intensity of the bike training initially caused the Haemturia.

To date I have raised over £4000 towards the new pool for Fareham Nomads Swimming Club.  A Big, Big thank you to all that have supported me, if you wish to donate please go to:
