Visited the Highlands Surgery and spoke with the Practice Manager explaining that I was annoyed at receiving a call the previous evening from my , as no message was left and I was unable to contact the Doctor that phoned me. This led to a worrying 15 hours, why was I phoned, is something wrong? She assured me that this would be investigated and if necessary, changes would be made to their ‘Systems.’
I saw my Doctor, the blood test proved to be negative but the urine sample indicated that I had a higher “Prostrate Specific Antigen” (PSA Level) than they would wish to see.
This led to a further course of anti-biotics, the blood in the urine diminished, however visits to the ‘Loo’ did not as I was encouraged to drink 4-5 litres of water per day. I think at this stage it is very important to state that I did not have any other symptoms of being or indeed feeling unwell; I had not lost weight for any unexplained reason, appetite was good, I was working my allotment, cycle training was still going fine, no temperature, no swelling and I was not experiencing any pain or discomfort - anywhere.
